On March 13th from 7pm - late, JSS will partner with Martiny’s to host a one-night-only pop-up with shochu cocktails created by some of the industry’s brightest. The lineup includes: Julia Momose from Bar Kumiko, Nikola Nikoletic from Patent Pending, Takuma Watanabe from Martiny‘s, and Don Lee from Existing Conditions.

On March 6th from 7pm - late, JSS will partner with DC’s premier cocktail bar, Allegory, to host a one-night-only pop-up with shochu cocktails created by some of the industry’s brightest. The lineup includes: Julia Momose from Bar Kumiko and Chris Bostic from Half Step, who will be mixing creative concoctions alongside Allegory’s stellar bar team.
Shochu Cocktail Masterclass with Don Lee and Kenta Goto
Join legendary bartenders Don Lee and Kenta Goto, as they share their secrets on crafting the perfect shochu cocktails this Friday. They'll also provide you with inspiration to create your own original recipe to enter into our Shochu Cocktail Competition!
Shochu Cocktail Week 2022
Japan Sake and Shochu Makers Association is pleased to announce NY State Legislation amends law to allow Shochu with 24% or Less to be sold by Soft Liquor License Holders. With this critical change, the shochu category can be recognized on its own and labeled and sold for the first time in New York as Shochu.
To celebrate this opportunity to let everyone know the joy of Shochu, the top 9 bars in New York City will offer their special shochu cocktails that feature the uniqueness of 15 brands of shochu from 9 different distillers in Japan. Those special shochu cocktails can be enjoyed at each bar during this Shochu Cocktail Week.

Calling all shochu lovers: we're so excited to announce our first-ever Shochu Week, happening March 1 - March 14, 2022! We've enlisted some of the best bartenders and foremost shochu experts in the country to create exclusive, one-of-a-kind shochu cocktails at bars all across the US.
Each participating bar will showcase a range of original shochu cocktails unique to their venue. Highlighting the range that this 500-year-old spirit category can take you, this will be an incredible experience for both cocktail enthusiasts and shochu newcomers alike.

Webinar Vol. 9: Shochu Cocktails: How to apply Low ABV Shochu
On Thursday, November 30th, we'll be hosting the next series of Webinars with Volume 9 with consultant Philip Duff, who will moderate. Special guest Kenta Goto of Bar Goto and Bar Goto Niban will be joining Philip to demonstrate and educate how you can best apply and experiment with low ABV shochu cocktails.
This webinar will also be taking you even further and more in-depth through the Kagoshima and Miyazaki regions and the sweet potato-based shochu that are prominent within. One of the primary materials used to make Shochu is sweet potato and could be one of the first types of Shochu that you may have tried.

Discover the world of Shochu and Awamori, the traditional Japanese spirits made from sugar cane, rice, sweet potato, barley, and many other ingredients mainly produced in southern Japan, between Kyushu and Okinawa. In this masterclass, you will explore the fascinating history of the spirits with more than 500 years of tradition.
In this presentation, explore the different styles of Shochu and Awamori as well as their appellations, history, production techniques, gastronomic pairings, and cocktail recipes made by the Symbiose restaurant and cocktail bar in Bordeaux.
